Have you applied for your distance learning incentives?


	Deadline August 1st!

With the August 1, 2010 deadline looming, many schools have not yet submitted their distance learning incentive applications. If your school has not applied there is still time and the process is easy, just download the application form at http://www.nde.state.ne.us/techcen/documents/IncentivesApp_v4_002.pdf and fill out the form. Then click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page and the form will automatically be sent to SuAnn Witt at NDE for her review. Back in May Grid Report from the Renovo scheduling system were sent out to all schools to help confirm the number of courses that each school exchanged and establish the distance education units (DEUs) earned. 	NDLA Fall Conference

After a great response to the 2009 NDLA Conference board members are planning an even better event for October 29th at the beautiful Durham Western Heritage Museum in Omaha. Although there is still a lot of work to be done we do know that we will have more breakout sessions and a greater variety of topics that will offer something for everyone.

One strand that will continue to be a focus will the be numerous content providers that can be called on to provide high quality programs for nearly any group from a classroom of students to groups of senior citizens. Last year Dave Rosenbaum from the National Archives presented to an audience of about 25 people via two-way interactive videoconferencing. This year we hope to have Dave present again. Another video conference presentation that is planned will come from the Manhattan School of Music who will provide master level vocal or instrumental music instruction for a small group of high school musicians. Then Julianna Han from the School of Music will do a follow-up session to describe other programs that the school can offer.

Mike Irwin with the Durham will share information about the numerous outreach programs that they can provide for various groups. For those interested in advances in the technology there will be vendor presentations that will showcase new equipment and strategies for maximizing the potential of cutting edge technology.
